Project Contract: Operation & Maintenance of Entissar/Sarir Gas Pipeline & RMS.

Owner:                              General Gas Transmission and Distribution Company (JLGas)

Contract NO.:  01/2021

Project Aim:   To Supply Natural Gas to Sarir Power Plant 3 × 250 MW

Contract Duration:        12 Months Starting from 15th of April.

Project Overview:   Entissar/Sarir Main Gas pipeline was essentially designed to carry necessary volumes of natural gas to Sarir Power Plant units 3 × 250 MW through a 20-inch pipeline for about 187 K.M. However, and due to technical issues and uncompleted commissioning for Entissar Gas hub project, alternatively natural gas is now being supplied from El-Faregh oil field of WahaOil Company from two phases of natural gas production facilities.

In December 2020, the Global Electricity Services Company–GESCO has taken the burden whether technically, logistically & financially to achieve certain experiments and tests and to finally start up the gas system for the first time since it was installed to standby and support the General Electricity CompanyGECOL and yet because GESCO realizes how much serious and sensitive this such process can be.

Fortunately, the gas system now with its components (Main Pipeline, GMRS-JLGAS, GMRS-GECOL) is being run and supervised by GESCO continuously around the clock and under safe and high-quality procedures to guarantee a continuous flow of natural gas to the power units. For such purpose, GESCO has put high efforts and taken dedicated arrangements by involving highly trained staff and provide and supply all compulsory equipment and tools on the behalf of the GMRS.
